  • The returnees were welcomed by Shiferaw Teklemariam, the Ethiopian Disaster Risk Management Commissioner, and Ambassador Nebiat Getachew, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • This repatriation marks the beginning of the fourth round of such efforts by the Ethiopian government.
  • The government plans to increase repatriation efforts by operating nine flights per week.
  • The initiative is part of Ethiopia's citizen-centered diplomacy, which also included the repatriation of more than 43 citizens from Myanmar on the same day.
